Platinum level caps
A level cap is the level of the opponent’s strongest Pokémon. In a Hardcore Nuzlocke, no Pokémon in your party may be above the cap when the battle starts.
The biggest jump in the main story is +8 levels, from Roark (Lv 14) to Gardenia (Lv 22). Plan your training before it.

Nuzlocke tips for Platinum
- The gym order differs from Diamond and Pearl: Roark, Gardenia, Fantina, Maylene, Crasher Wake, Byron, Candice and Volkner.
- Fantina’s Ghost types arrive much earlier than in Diamond and Pearl, with a Mismagius as her ace. Bring Dark types or strong special attackers.
- Gifts include a Riolu egg from Riley on Iron Island and an Eevee from Bebe in Hearthome City.
